On Your Bike for Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Wilsons Auctions proudly hosted the annual fundraising event for The Big Dee Day Family Cycle Ride at its newly refurbished Shotton Point site, located in North Wales. The event, organised by Flint’s RNLI lifeboat fundraising team, aimed to raise vital funds for their critical life-saving services.

Cyclists of all ages and skill levels had a delightful day on Sunday 12th May as they set out across three tailored cycling routes. Participants choose from three picturesque routes: the short 0.5-mile ride to Blue Bridge and back, a moderate 8-mile journey to and from the Saltney Ferry footbridge, or a challenging 12-mile trek to The Cop in Chester and back.

Wilsons Auctions sponsored the event by providing funds for the medals and offering guided tours to the public, showcasing the remarkable restoration work that went into bringing the Clock Tower back to its former glory at the Shotton Point site.

The event was well received, with RLNI staff member Dave Edwards achieving the biggest amount collected of £350. Operations Manager David Williams had the pleasure of presenting the Flint RNLI team with Wilsons Auctions’ sponsorship and medals for the event. (pictured?)

In 2023, Wilsons Auctions recognised the urgent need for renovation and site works on the Clock Tower and the full site at Shotton Point, which was at risk of collapsing due to structural issues. The decision to take on multi-million pound restoration work ensured the survival of the iconic site, marking a significant achievement for the community.

Well done to all involved for a successful event!
